MARCH MADNESS BAD BEATS BLOG: Oral Roberts leads another day for ’dogs

The NCAA Tournament field has been culled to 32, and by Monday night, we’ll be down to the Sweet 16.

The first eight berths will be punched Sunday, starting with No. 1 seed Illinois trying to hold off No. 8 Loyola-Chicago.

9:36 p.m.: That’s it for today. Underdogs continue to dominate. Favorites went only 2-6 against the spread, and five of the underdogs scored outright upsets, led by No. 15 seed Oral Roberts, which rallied to knock off Florida at +350 ML. In the first game of the day, No. 8 seed Loyola-Chicago (+280) rolled past No. 1 seed Illinois. No. 12 Oregon State (+220) capped the night by beating No. 4 Oklahoma State. Totals split 4-4.

9:28 p.m.: In what was very likely his final college game, Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham, the projected top pick in the NBA draft, scored 24 points, to go over his prop total of 21½. Oregon State’s Ethan Thompson cruised over his prop of 15½ with 26 points.
