Summer 2019 Las Vegas Review-Journal Photo Internship

At the Las Vegas Review-Journal you will get hands-on experience covering a wide array of assignments, including breaking news, major sporting events and world renowned entertainment. Having a creative eye and the drive to produce dynamic visuals is a must for this position. We are also looking for versatile candidates who have strong video production and editing skills. Must also be proficient on major social media platforms.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the summer photography intern include covering events, breaking news, sports, portrait and studio work, shooting video, and utilizing social media to promote the RJ brand and your work. Personal equipment is required (Canon preferred). We have a very limited amount of Canon pool equipment for checkout.

Qualifications:

  • Your portfolio must include news, sports, features, portraits, lighting, and in-depth stories and video.
  • One to two previous internships required.
  • Applicants should have their own camera equipment.
  • Online photography portfolio required

    STRATEGIC SALES CONSULTANT

    The Las Vegas Review Journal is seeking a highly motivated Sales Consultant
    Responsible for: maintaining existing regional multimedia advertising and sponsorship account revenue from assigned client list; identifying and closing opportunities to add products/services to grow and maximize spend from existing clients; targeting and closing new, large-scale regional multimedia advertising and sponsorship clients based outside the local market; building and sustaining strong client relationships; ensuring accurate, timely internal and external communication; ensuring accuracy and integrity of rates; ensuring exceptional client satisfaction; meeting/exceeding assigned sales revenue goals; and other duties as assigned.
    Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
    (I) Business Development
    Follow company’s accepted sales processes, standards, policies, deadlines, and best practices at all times. identify and close opportunities to add products/services to maximize client spend. Create and present audience-based multimedia advertising proposals that include the full appropriate array of Review-Journal products/services, integrates digital assets, and ensure achievement of client’s desired results. Produce accurate sales forecasts based on account/market potential on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Request testimonials and new client referrals from active clients. Maintain positive industry citizenship/involvement/networking. Attend company-sponsored events where advertisers are present. Remain current on industry technology, trends, market activities, and competition at all times.
    (II) Revenue Goal Achievement
    Meet/exceed assigned sales revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Achieve company’s standard KPIs in required time period(s) along with others assigned by management. Close sales at a high percentage through utilization of strong negotiation skills. Utilize and manage internal support resources in a positive, respectful manner to enhance sales success. Contribute to team effort by working to accomplish team results along with individual results.
    (III) Client Satisfaction
    Ensure accurate instructions, paperwork, verbal/written communication, project management, etc. at all times. Work to set realistic client campaign performance expectations; ensure creation of messaging that is in alignment with the client’s stated expectations; adjust when necessary to ensure client expectations are met. Schedule and hold client satisfaction/strategic review meetings with top clients on a quarterly basis, or more frequently as appropriate. Enforce and adhere to company’s established deadlines. Follow and enforce company’s standards, policies, and best practices at all times. Conduct all internal and external business and communication in a positive, respectful manner at all times.
    IV) Personal Growth and Development
    Attend all scheduled 1:1 meetings with management. Attend all group sales meetings scheduled by management. Attend all company provided training events required by management. Complete all LMS training assigned by management within the required time period. Seek out additional individual product and professional development
    Standards of Performance
    Meet/exceed assigned sales revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Achieve company’s core KPI goals for position along with additional KPI goals assigned by manager. Develop and consistently maintain a strategic sales plan for assigned territory/account list. Maximize revenue from existing accounts through development/presentation of audience-based, research
    driven sales solutions. Make sales-related outbound calls with voice-to-voice connects to a minimum of ten (10) national/regional or major accounts/agencies each week. Complete a minimum of four (4) quality, new business-focused CNA meetings via telephone conference, web conference, or occasionally an in-person visit each week. Complete a minimum of two (2) new business proposal presentation meetings via telephone conference, web conference, or occasionally an in-person visit each week. Achieve at least minimum digital sales percentage of overall sales revenue objectives set by management. Achieve minimum number of active accounts objective set by management. Ensure churn for existing accounts is no greater than 10% of accounts on list inactive year over year. Ensure that revenue on contracts serviced and sold within territory and/or on account list fulfill to meet the terms of the contract. Track all sales activity in company CRM software 100% of the time. No more than 2% of quarterly sales revenue designated as un collectable bad debt.

    Requirements/Skills:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, similar field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in advertising sales working predominantly with large-scale advertisers (spend greater than $25,000 annually) and a proven track record of goal attainment Digital marketing and/or advertising experience required. Experience using sales CRM required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience working with large-scale national and/or regional advertising accounts preferred.

    The Las Vegas Review-Journal is looking for collaborative, sales-focused individuals to partner with our multi-media Advertising Executives to served as experts on our broad portfolio of digital advertising and marketing solutions. Our Digital Advertising Specialists work with multi-media teams to identify appropriate solutions for clients and to develop campaign strategies to meet clients’ digital marketing goals.

    Successful candidates will have strong practical knowledge of all areas of digital advertising and marketing including programmatic, social, PPC, SEO, database, and video platforms. Demonstrated success in a B2B or media sales environment is highly preferred.
