LETTER: Make penalties tougher for those texting on Nevada roads

I’ve seen several articles about teenage driving and cell phone use. But they’re not the only ones. Many drivers from most age groups are doing it, too.

Instead of just fines, why can’t the first offense result in an immediate 30-day suspension of the driving license along with a moderate fine? Then, if the driver is caught again, everything doubles. This could become a bigger hazard than DUI.
