Red Flag brings noise to Las Vegas

Southern Nevada residents can expect to hear the thunder of military fighter jets and bombers as about 100 aircraft head north from Nellis Air Force Base to the skies over the Nevada Test and Training Range to participate in Red Flag training exercises beginning Monday through July 25.
Base officials said aircraft will depart Nellis twice a day stay and stay in the air for up to five hours before returning to the base at the north end of the Las Vegas Valley.
Besides Air Force jets from a number squadrons at U.S. bases in the continental United States, Italy and England, this Red Flag will include C-130s and C-160s from the French air force, and F-16s, F-15s and CH-47s from Singapore’s air force.
