Las Vegas soldier killed in Afghanistan

Army Spc. Brian Tabada of Las Vegas was killed Sunday in Afghanistan after insurgents ambushed his patrol. Tabada, 21, was a fire-support specialist trained in calling in aircraft and artillery to quell attacks on NATO troops, according to the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky.

Nevada National Guard battalion deploys to Afghanistan

Hundreds of soldiers in the 422nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion attended a ceremony Thursday at Mandalay Bay where Gov. Brian Sandoval and U.S. Sen.
