Event offers Nevada veterans free legal help

In honor of National Military Appreciation Month, Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt is offering free legal services for military veterans in Las Vegas.

On Monday, the attorney general’s office of military legal assistance will host a workshop that pairs Nevada veterans with local lawyers to help sort through civil matters and assist with legal documents.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Texas Station, 2101 N. Texas Lane, lawyers will draft wills and powers of attorney for veterans.

Representatives from Nevada Legal Services also will be there to answer questions related to family law or bankruptcy, among other issues. In addition, Nevada Department of Veterans Services officers will be available to discuss benefit needs.

The event is free and open to all Nevada veterans.
