26.2-mile relay to raise money of active duty soldiers’ families

With this weekend’s 38th annual Greek Food Festival, St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church will hold a 26.2-mile relay for 20 runners who will pass a torch to raise money through pledges for families of active- duty soldiers in Nevada.

The event starts 2 p.m. at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Blvd., near Alta Drive, and ends at the church, 5300 El Camino Road, near Hacienda Avenue and Jones Boulevard.

Organizer and food festival chairman Gus Flangas said tax-exempt pledges can be made by calling him at 702-307-9500, or the church, 702-221-8245.
