City senior programs offer variety for ages 50 and older

The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, crafts, arts, dance, music and computer classes Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and older. Many of these activities contribute to wellness and a healthy lifestyle.

A listing of classes and activities is available in the centers and online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov, as well as information on special events. Most activities require a $2 annual membership.

The centers that offer activities, classes and special events are:

n Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, 702-229-1702.

n Derfelt Senior Center, 3343 W. Washington Ave., 702-229-6601. (Derfelt Senior Center is closed while Lorenzi Park is being remodeled, but is scheduled to reopen this fall.)

n Doolittle Senior Center, 1930 N. J St., 702-229-6125.

n East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., 702-229-1515.

n Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, 702-229-6454.

n Lieburn Senior Center, 6230 Garwood Ave., 702-229-1600.
