Where there’s wood fire, there’s pizza, at Mr. B’s

Mr. B’s Bar, Grill & Ristorante, 3824 Paradise Road, opened March 9 to serve patrons Italian food in a place general manager Brett Wachman notes is "both conveniently located for locals and is in walking distance from seven hotels and the Convention Center."

"Mr. B" is Bernie Cheatham, a Winnipeg, Manitoba, native who first came to Las Vegas 43 years ago on vacation. He bought a house here five years ago, and decided to open restaurants in the city. First was the Fremont Mediterranean Cafe in Neonopolis and, then, Mr. B’s, which specializes in pizza nel forno (pizza made in a wood-fired oven).

"We make a small variety of pizzas because each is so special. But, if you’re unsure of what to try, I recommend a margherita pizza – tomato sauce fresh mozzarella and basil – and that you add the toppings you want," Wachman said.

Their steaks – all cut in-house – seafood and chops are cooked on a mesquite grill. Mr. B’s is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant and offers patrons the opportunity to substitute gluten-free pasta made from corn flour at no extra charge. All sauces are homemade and the restaurant also features a risotto of the day.

Along with a full bar, soft drinks and coffees, Mr. B’s offers wine from several countries, served by the glass or bottle.

Inside, the restaurant seats 120 people. An outdoor patio with three fire pits, and casual seating, has space for 60 guests. There is a banquet room with a 100-person capacity.

Mr. B’s opens at 11 a.m. weekdays, Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at noon. It is open until 4 a.m. daily, with happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays and every night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Reservations are not necessary but are recommended. A "Little B’s" children’s menu will be introduced soon.
