Restaurants make it easier to enjoy Christmas dinner at home

Most Southern Nevada restaurants will serve on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, many of them featuring special menus. For those who would prefer to dine at home but not to cook, most restaurants offer takeout of individual meals. Some also offer family-style packages, such as this partial list:

Bahama Breeze, 375 Hughes Center Drive, presents a Caribbean escape for the holidays with the To Go Party Pack for four people, $50. It includes a choice of two appetizers and an entree of jerk chicken pasta, grilled chicken with cilantro crema or seafood paella. bahamabreeze.com

The three-course holiday Family Meals to Go at the four Southern Nevada locations of Black Bear Diner serve four. Available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, choices are prime rib ($69.99), ham ($44.99) or roasted turkey ($39.99), served with red-skinned mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread stuffing, Italian green beans, soup or salad, warm cornbread muffin and pumpkin pie. Bootlegger Bistro, 7700 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering family-style holiday meals that serve four. The numerous selections include baked penne Bolognese, $44; spaghetti or penne with marinara or meat sauce, $32; and chicken Angelo, $58; all come with Insalata di Casa and panetti and panetti dipping sauce. Bottiglia Cucina and Enoteca at Green Valley Ranch Resort plans a family Christmas feast to-go that serves up to eight. It includes house-made focaccia with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar; walnut and apple salad with arugula and balsamic-roasted grapes; meatballs with tomato gravy and Grana Padana; charcuterie with bresaola, mortadella, TeaHive cheddar, burrata, toast, tomato relish and honeycomb; veal Bolognese with fresh tagliatelle and whipped ricotta; Tuscany braised short rib with sun-dried tomato polenta and gremolata; roasted carrots; lemon-caper relish; herbed fingerling potatoes; warm pannetone with honey whipped cream, candied walnuts and chocolate curls; and vegan chocolate budino with whipped coconut creme. Buca di Beppo, which has four locations in Southern Nevada, is offering the Holiday Cake Boss Package, which serves five for $95. It includes a choice of mixed greens or Caesar salad; spaghetti marinara, fettucine Alfredo, penne alla vodka or baked ziti; chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Limone or eggplant Parmigiana; and a Cake Boss Holiday Cake, a six-inch cake with red, white and green layers filled with sweet vanilla Italian buttercream and topped with red, white and green sprinkles. bucadibeppo.com

The Capital Grille at Fashion Show mall is offering holiday dinners at home that feed four to six: roasted whole tenderloin of beef with fresh herbs and butter-poached North Atlantic lobster tails, $275, or roasted whole tenderloin of beef with fresh herbs and jumbo shrimp scampi-style, $250. Both come with seeded French rolls, a salad of butter lettuce with heirloom tomatoes and Parmesan vinaigrette, Sam’s Mashed Potatoes, grilled asparagus with lemon mosto and The Capital Grille Cheesecake brulee-style with fresh berries. thecapitalgrille.com

China Poblano at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas puts its spin on a holiday feast for four, $60, which is available Dec. 25 through Jan. 3. It includes chips and salsa; six-piece Pollo Tamal with shredded chicken, mole poblano and heirloom masa steamed in corn husks and served with salsa roja picante and chicharrones; 64 ounces of Pozole Verde, shredded pork and hominy in tomatillo broth; and eight churros. Optional cocktail add-ons for two include prickly pear margarita, $22; classic margarita, $20; or five-spice Old Fashioned, $22. Dinners include a half prime rib, which serves four to six, or full prime rib, which serves up to 10, with holiday salad, Chateau Potatoes, green beans with garlic butter and a whole pecan pie. The Santa’s Feast at Echo & Rig at Tivoli Village is $295 and serves six to eight. It includes an oven-ready prime rib, baby spinach salad, roasted winter squash, mashed potatoes, gravy, lard bread stuffing, broccoli, mac & cheese, Parkerhouse rolls and apple-calvados cobbler. Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian offers a variety of dishes including lobster bisque with Maine lobster garnish, $62 per quart; a 24-ounce Chateaubriand with asparagus that serves two to three, $185; and a whole pecan pie with caramel sauce and whipped cream, $75. Joe’s Seafood, Fine Steaks & Stone Crab at The Forum Shops at Caesars has put together a Christmas dinner package for two, available for pickup Dec. 23 or 24: Joe’s Chopped Salad, two 8-ounce Beef Wellingtons, Jennie’s Mashed Potatoes, asparagus and Key lime pie, $179.95. Morton’s The Steakhouse, 400 E. Flamingo Road, is offering a three-course Chateaubriand dinner for $75 per person, minimum of two. Red Rock Resort is planning a Christmas dinner to go that serves up to eight people. It includes winter pear salad with goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette or roasted butternut squash bisque with candied pecans, herb-roasted prime rib au jus with creamy horseradish, potato puree, mac and cheese, charred Brussels sprouts, roasted baby carrots and chocolate-hazel yule log, $300. Santa Fe Station’s takeout Christmas dinner includes roasted prime rib of beef ($225) with jus and creamy horseradish, or baked ham ($170), plus Winter Harvest Salad with raspberries and candied walnuts, wild rice pilaf, au gratin potatoes, candied carrots, sauteed garlic green beans, rolls with butter, bread pudding and apple pie. The butchers at Smith & Wollensky at the Grand Canal Shoppes are hand-tying roasts and packaging them with cooking instructions. A three-bone (average weight 10.5 pounds) prime rib roast with horseradish cream is $220 or four-bone (12-pound average weight) with horseradish cream $270; tenderloin roast with red wine demi-glace (4-pound average weight) $195.
