EL CORTEZ PLANS POP-UP OUTDOOR PATIO OCT. 10

The El Cortez, 600 E. Fremont St., plans to introduce The Wineyard, a new pop-up outdoor patio, on Oct. 10 directly across from the main property on Jackie Gaughan Parkway. The Wineyard will combine music, drinks and a cozy atmosphere with wooden picnic tables, overhead string lights and cedar wine racks. Live music, wines by the glass or bottle, craft beers and an array of meats and cheeses for purchase a la carte are planned. Food items are prepared on the grill and served with warm, toasted bread and olives.

PROJECT DINNER TABLE PLANS FINAL EVENT

Project Dinner Table’s finale is planned for Oct. 11 at the Barrick Museum at UNLV, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, to raise funds for the Safe Nest domestic crisis shelter and the Blind Center of Nevada. The meal will feature cuisine by Caesars Palace chefs. A social hour is planned for 5:15 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m.

After five years and more than $110,000 raised in donations for approximately 40 Southern Nevada charities and organizations, this will be the last Project Dinner Table event.

TASTE OF THE HOLIDAYS SHOWCASE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SALVATION ARMY

For the second year, B With a Twist Catering & Events is hosting its Taste of the Holidays showcase in partnership with the Las Vegas Rotary to raise holiday food donations for The Salvation Army. B with a Twist, a Las Vegas-based company, raised enough money to purchase 25,000 cans of food for the charity at its inaugural event last year.

Bonefish Grill opened its second Las Vegas Valley location Sept. 29 at 8701 W. PUBLIC SCHOOL 702 PLANS SPRING OPENING IN DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN

Public School 702, a full-service restaurant and bar, plans to open in spring 2015 at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. Restaurateur Bob Spivak brings his passion for gastropub fare and craft beer to the project, along with a chef-driven menu developed by executive chef Phil Kastel.

A draft list will feature 24 craft beers. Guests will sit at a mixture of communal tables, booths and traditional indoor and outdoor dining tables. Many of the details are still being worked out, but the current plan calls for communal tables that will double as spots for beer pong on the second-level outdoor patio.

For the fifth year in a row, Station Casinos is hosting Project Pink, a companywide initiative to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds raised throughout October will benefit the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.

Brendan’s Pub at The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave., and the Showroom at the Gold Coast, 4000 W. Flamingo Road, plan to host Monday Night Madness at 4 p.m. The free viewing parties are set to feature $10 buckets of beer, $2 Budweiser and Bud Light and $1.50 Vienna Beef hot dogs.

The Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, plans to host free Monday viewing parties in the Showroom with $2 Miller Genuine Drafts or Miller Lights and food specials. Doors are set to open an hour before kickoff. Thursday viewing parties are planned in the race and sports book lounge.

Sam’s Town, 5111 Boulder Highway, plans to host Monday viewing parties. Admission is free and the first draft beer is free for B Connected members.

Main Street Station, 200 N. Main St., plans Monday viewing parties at Triple 7 Restaurant and Brewery. Food and drink specials are planned, including $4 specialty cocktails, $2 Jim Beam Kentucky Fire shots, $7 glasses of J. Lohr wines and $8 beer buckets.

TREASURE ISLAND KICKS OFF FOOTBALL SPECIALS

Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall and Bar-B-Que, Seafood Shack and Breeze Bar in Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering specials through football season, including $15 beer buckets, $8 beer and a shot, $5 cocktail and a shot and $3 draft beer.

Specials at Gilley’s are available during all televised college and professional football games. Specials at the Seafood Shack and Breeze Bar are available at all times.
