4 spots for the biggest and best salads in Las Vegas

Peppermill
The first thing to know about the Peppermill’s salads is that they’re huge. Order the simply named Fresh Fruit and you’ll get half a pineapple filled with melon, banana, orange slices, grapes and more, topped with cottage cheese, ice cream or sherbet. Oh, and you get banana-nut bread and creamy marshmallow sauce on the side. And a setting that’s a “Jetsons”-meets-“Gone With the Wind” mashup.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Yardbird knows how to do Southern food right, and that extends to the Butter Lettuce & Grilled Mango Salad, which, besides the titular ingredients, comes with smoked pecans, tomatoes, onion and a benne seed dressing (that’s sesame to all the Yankees in the crowd).

Skinnyfats
Skinnyfats’ menu is divided into “happy” and “healthy” sides, but the Bleu Balsamic from the healthy side is still an indulgence. Fresh spinach is topped with shaved New York strip, cherry tomatoes, onions, basil and blue cheese and served with a balsamic glaze. No wonder they call their salads “Eating Gardens.”

Grand Lux Cafe
If you’re looking for salad variety, Grand Lux is your kind of place. They offer salads in three categories — “Market Greens,” “Small Salads” and “Grand Salads” — with well over a dozen choices in all. And most of them aren’t what you’d find anywhere else, like the Roasted Pear and Strawberry Salad, which, besides those fruits, is a toss of Little Gem lettuce, spinach, feta cheese and almonds with lemon dressing.
