Vegas Stripped: Downtown artisan creates goods out of trash — VIDEO

Zac Erickson joined the carpenters’ union the first week out of high school. But when the recession hit work slowed down a he began doing custom woodwork.

His company, Zedco, has a shop at Third Street and Colorado Avenue in downtown Las Vegas. He creates furniture, light fixtures, custom signs and pretty much anything you ask, all out of recycled materials.

Erickson said the work is far more gratifying than general construction, and he loves being a part of the downtown scene.
