Dining Pick of the Week: Jamms

Jamms Restaurant

1029 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-877-0749

Jamms Restaurant is tucked into an aging strip mall at Rainbow and Charleston boulevards, but what it lacks in curb appeal, it more than makes up for with its homestyle cooking and friendly service. The cozy space is eclecticly decorated in a style that might bring back fond memories of Grandma’s house. And if your grandma was a good cook, the menu will bring back good memories as well. Breakfast is popular here and includes Jamms Fluffy Egg Omelets (the Signature features sliced steak, onions, mushrooms and cheese topped with homemade bearnaise sauce), skillets, waffles, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches (the Taylor Ham Sandwich features two fried eggs, Taylor ham (pork roll) and American cheese on a hard roll) and the Denver Potato Pancake, Jamms version of a potato pancake with grilled ham, bell pepper, green onions and cheddar cheese. The restaurant is known for its Pot of Bread side choice, which is pretty much what it sounds like — a cup full of soft, fresh baked bread (a cinnamon raisin version is available and often specialty versions are offered). The lunch menu offers wraps, sandwiches, paninis, burgers, salads, soups and low-carb options. A children’s menu is available, and the atmosphere is casual and family friendly with mostly booth seating. Jamms is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
