LETTER: When will this pandemic be over?

How does one tell when this pandemic is over? I would suggest that because society has accepted the current flu rate of illnesses and deaths with no mandates, when the COVID pandemic produces similar rates of illnesses and deaths we should call it over. Then all mandates should end and life would return to normal.
