LETTER: Virus shutdowns are an overeaction

It was reported in Thursday’s Review-Journal that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nevada stands at 142,239, while the number of deaths stands at 2,071. Why are we shutting down the state, closing the schools and keeping people out of work for something with more than a 98 percent survival rate?
