Blame Republicans for citizenry’s ignorance of U.S. civics and history

Friday’s Review-Journal editorial bemoaning the political and historical ignorance of many Americans explains why Republicans resist increasing public school funding and fully funding higher education. The more educated one becomes, the more he or she will understand about politics and history. As polls show, those with more education have a tendency to support what Republicans consider liberal programs.

Making Americans more educated could significantly reduce the Republican base.
