Rain expected later this week too

The rain Las Vegas is seeing now should clear out by sunrise Tuesday, but don’t tuck your umbrellas away just yet.

The National Weather Service said there could be more rain later this week.

The first band of rain Monday night had dropped about 0.05 inches of rain on the valley by 7:30 p.m. Monday and a second band of rain is expected to fall intermittently until just before sunrise, according to weather service meteorologist Chris Outler.

Las Vegas is expected to see rainfall totaling between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch by Tuesday morning, Outler said.

Clouds are expected to hang around Tuesday morning, clearing out as the day goes on, Outler said. Wednesday will be mostly sunny.

Chances for more rain will come Thursday afternoon, Outler said, but weather models aren’t agreeing on how much moisture the storm system will bring.

Daytime high temperatures will be in the mid-60s through Friday. Tuesday’s low temperature is expected to be 53 degrees and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will see low temps in the upper 40s.
