Las Vegas can expect temp dip, wind this week

Temperatures could dip below the 90s this week as pre-fall weather brings gusty winds to the Las Vegas Valley, the National Weather Service said. Fall begins Sept. 23.

According to the weather service:

Sunday reached a high of 102 degrees, the hottest day of the week.

A red flag warning is set for 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday. Winds will increase steadily throughout the day and reach 30-35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon and evening. Monday’s high should reach about 96.

Winds will die down to light breezes overnight, and Tuesday will see a sunny day with the high falling to 89.

Wednesday’s high will jump back up to about 95 before temperatures fall again Thursday, with a high near 89. On Friday, the high should reach about 85.
