Tim Tebow is slated to start in Double-A, MLB.com reported Monday. The Mets have advanced Tebow, 30, quickly through their system, which means that the former football player could make an appearance with the 51s this season. In his first season in the minors, Tebow slashed a combined .226/.309/.347 with eight home runs and 52 RBIs. In February, Mets general manager Sandy Alderson told reporters he thinks that Tebow “will play in the major leagues.”
