Three women have been arrested in connection with staged auto accidents.
Las Vegas police say the staged accidents were used as a ruse to rob people.
Police say the suspects signaled motorists to pull over and told them their vehicle was hit.
One suspect might distract victims while others stole valuables.
Sometimes they would coerce the person into giving them cash as a settlement for the fabricated damage.
Sophia Nicholas, 28, Amanda Miller, 19, and Barbara Miller, 38, were arrested.
Police say they believe at least three others participated in the crimes.

Two women are accused of murder in a January shooting.
Donald Paciotti, 59, was shot Jan. 19 at his central-valley home.
Diana Michelle Cordon, 26, and Liliana Quezada, 27, are arrested.
Police used DNA and fingerprint evidence to link them to the crime.
An unnamed police source reported Quezada bragged about killing someone.
“You don’t understand the power I felt,” she reportedly said.
The source introduced Quezada to Paciotti so she could buy meth from him.
They are being held without bail.
Las Vegas’ airport is getting new security procedures.
TSA’s new process at McCarran airport is supposed to process travelers a little more quickly through Terminal 3.
Three security lanes will be equipped with upgraded features.
The features include bins that are 25 percent larger and capable of holding roll-aboard luggage.
Each bin is equipped with radio-frequency chips.
The new system automatically returns bins to the front so TSA officers don’t have to manually collect them.
The new system has been in testing for roughly two weeks.
McCarran will be the sixth airport to implement the system.

CCSD grapples with a budget deficit that may require up to $80 million in cuts.
Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky warns that widespread layoffs are expected.
He said it is likely that almost every school will be affected.
Skorkowsky said costs in the rapidly growing district have outpaced increases in state funding for education.
Principal Darren Sweikert says to expect class sizes to go up as a result.

One of the tallest buildings in Las Vegas has been sold.
The partially built Fontainebleau hotel has been sold to real estate investment firms Witkoff and New Valley.
Billionaire Carl Icahn sold the property for $600 million after buying it for around $150 million during the recession.
Witkoff has not said what it plans to do with the property.
It also did not say what the new name might be.
John Knott, a former listing broker for Fontainebleau, said it would cost $900 million to $1.6 billion to complete.
The Fontainebleau was originally envisioned as a $2.8 billion, 3,815-room project.
Amenities were slated to include 24 restaurants and lounges, a spa and casino, and a 3,300-seat performance hall.
Construction began in 2007. The hotel was slated to open in 2009 but the project went bankrupt.
