1. A judge set bail at $350,000 Friday for the man charged with murder after a single punch killed a father of five outside Fremont Street Club. The Las Vegas Justice of the Peace weighted James Beach’s criminal past, which includes an attempted murder conviction.
2. The mas accused of fatally shooting a bus passenger on the Strip in March was found incompetent to stand trial Friday. The judge ordered him sent to a state mental health facility in Las Vegas for treatment that could lead to a competency finding, and prosecution later. Roland Bueno Cardenas faces multiple charges including open murder and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
3. One person is dead after a shooting in the west valley Saturday afternoon. Police responded to Stober Court near South Rainbow Boulevard and West Flamingo Roads for reports of a person shot in the middle of the road. That person was taken to UMC for surgery, where they later died.
The UFC introduced Justin Gaethje at their summer kickoff press conference. Still undefeated, Gaethje will be welcomed to the promotion by Michael Johnson at The Ultimate Fighter Finale on July 7, 2017.

1. A former Las Vegas nightclub promoter was acquitted Thursday of kidnapping and sexual assault charges. A 25-year-old woman testified that Frederick Richards took her to his home in Rhodes Ranch after meeting at Hyde nightclub, and that she awoke the next morning with her underwear across the room. Jurors said they felt the state couldn’t prove the woman’s testimony and that it wasn’t an easy decision to acquit Richards.
2. A man was shot and killed at a northwest Las Vegas apartment complex. Police were dispatched to Bloom Apartment Homes on Gowan Road near Tenaya Way at about 6 p.m. Thursday, where they found a man dead inside a car. Police are still investigating.
3. The Raiders are set to name a general contractor for a new Las Vegas stadium. Raiders president Marc Badain said Thursday that a contract has yet to be finalized, but that they’re working with a Minneapolis-based firm Mortensen Construction that is partners with McCarthy Building Companies in Henderson. A timeline released by the Stadium Authority estimates stadium groundbreaking by late December or early January.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is ready for May 13 to arrive. Though much anticipation has surrounded his rematch with Junior dos Santos at UFC 211, Miocic doesn’t want to overthink the fight at this point.
• The Raiders and the Las Vegas Stadium Authority are pushing to complete a lease agreement this month. The Raiders want to finish the deal in time for NFL owners meetings May 22 and 23rd. The two sides need to work out details for setting aside funds for capital expenses as the stadium ages.
• Nevada’s governor is being floated as a possible contender for the job of FBI director. However, Brian Sandoval’s office says no one from President Trump’s administration has approached the governor.
• Fox has ordered a new comedy series set on a flight to Las Vegas. “LA to Vegas” takes place each week on the same Friday night flight between the cities. The series will star Dylan McDermott and Ed Weeks.
• And Apple is making an additional billion-dollar investment in Northern Nevada. The Reno City Council has approved plans for an expanded data center and a project in downtown Reno. Apple plans to hire 100 employees.
1. James Beach, the suspect in a tourist’s one-punch death, made his first court appearance Wednesday. Beach’s attorney said that there was never an intention to hurt anybody and that the incident was a terrible accident. Beach is being held without bail at Clark County Detention Center.
2. A police report shows a March shooting death in the east Las Vegas Valley was fueled by drugs, sex and jealousy. According to the report, Derrian Stephens was high on meth and with his girlfriend when Eric Flores came to talk with her. Stephens was upset and hit the woman with a fire extinguisher and left. Later, when the woman went with Flores to Stephen’s house to claim her things, an argument ensued and Flores shot Stephens in the neck. Flores was arrested Monday on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
3. UNLV forward Dwayne Morgan has been suspended after an arrest over the weekend. Morgan was arrested early Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge after a dispute with a cabdriver. UNLV athletics issued a statement saying they are aware of the situation and have suspended Morgan indefinitely.

1. Another White Castle is sliding into Las Vegas. White Castle first debuted in Las Vegas in January 2015, becoming the first location west of the Rocky Mountains. Rob Richardson, whose group owns that location, confirmed he’s opening another White Castle at the northwest corner of Fourth and Fremont streets. It is unknown when the new location is expected to open.
2. Clark County School officials discussed the safety of school buses after a fatal accident that sent more than a dozen student to the hospital on Thursday. Officials said drivers have to make it through 35 hours of driving in the field and 40 hours of classroom instruction training. Students are prepped for emergency scenarios the first week of school, and each route is required to run two evacuation drills. The 10-year-old girl in the sedan that hit the school bus Thursday remains in critical condition.
3. One person was taken to the hospital Friday after a car jacking near the Stratosphere. A man punched the driver of the vehicle, took him out of the car and fled. The man later crashed near Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard South, before fleeing on foot. He has not been taken into custody.
