Karen England On CCSD’s Transgender Regulations

The transgender regulations proposed by the Clark County School District violate the privacy rights of students. If passed, those regulations will allow teachers to use curriculum that exposes even young students to transgender concepts. School districts also don’t have the right to compel speech. That’s according to Karen England, executive director of Nevada Family Alliance.

Over the last week, CCSD has conducted five community meetings on the proposal. Transgender students have shared stories of being bullied at school in their push for the policy. But Nevada already has one of the most aggressive anti-bullying laws in the country. This includes a requirement that an investigation into bullying occur within one day.
