UFC 244 and Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev presented by DAZN were set to air on the same date at the same time. The start of boxing’s main event at the MGM Grand was delayed until the UFC’s fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz ended.
