On December 31, 2018 detectives with the LVMPD Northwest Area Command Patrol Investigations Section received a report of the theft of a surveillance camera from the front porch of a residence located in the area of West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Rampart Boulevard. The victim in this case became aware of other residents in the neighborhood who had been the victim of similar crimes.

A woman in her 80s was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after she was beaten and robbed inside her room at a downtown Las Vegas hotel-casino. The woman was trying to unlock the door to her room just before 1:30 a.m. at the 4 Queens, 202 Fremont St., according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon. When the woman opened the door the man forced his way inside and attacked her, striking her in the face and robbing her. The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries to her face, Gordon said.

On January 22nd, 2018, a bank robbery occurred near the 8700 block of West Sahara Avenue. The suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money from the drawer. The teller complied and the suspect left the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a black male adult, in his 30’s, 5’8″-5’9″ tall, weighing 150-175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Adidas hat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black framed Prescription
glasses.

This afternoon a male suspect entered the Bank of America, located at 2638 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, at about 12:40 p.m. As he entered the bank, he pulled a black mask down to conceal his face.The suspect is described as a late-forties to early-fifties white male adult, approximately 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 to 180 pounds He was last seen wearing a dark colored beanie, a grayish blue plaid shirt, dark jeans and dark colored shoes. His head was shaved on the sides and the top of his hair was dark in color. Vehicle was described as possibly a gray 2012-2014 four door Ford Focus. The license plates were covered with black tape. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to contact the suspect but call police immediately. Las Vegas Strip robbery spree ends in casino parking garage

A pair of robbery suspects led police to three parking garages around the Las Vegas Strip before they were caught early Tuesday morning.
The first robbery took place at the Treasure Island parking garage, where two suspects “battered” a 71-year-old, her adult daughter and a juvenile girl.
The suspects, one of who was armed, next demanded money and property from a pair of 18-year-olds at Fashion Show mall. The suspects were later spotted at the SLS Las Vegas parking garage. They tried to get away by ramming a patrol car with their vehicle. That effort failed and they were taken into custody.

A white man accused of robbing a Strip casino in blackface in January was charged Friday in federal court, records show. Cameron James Kennedy, 26, was charged with robbery in the armed holdup of a casino cage at New York-New York, according to the U.S. Department of Justice and a federal criminal complaint filed last week. The Las Vegas man already was under federal supervision on prior bank robbery charges when he allegedly cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet and robbed the casino in the early morning of Jan. 10, according to the complaint. Kennedy used makeup to appear black, Las Vegas police said. On Jan. 18, an anonymous tipster told investigators that Kennedy robbed the casino.

Las Vegas police are searching for a woman who robbed the South Point casino cage at gunpoint Monday night. The woman walked up to the cage about 7:40 p.m., showed the teller a handgun and demanded cash, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. No one was injured in the robbery. She got away with an “indeterminate” amount of money, police said, and fled the casino in an older model 2-door gold or brown sedan with a black top and large chrome rims. 1. Police are investigating after a woman in her early 20s was found dead inside an open garage at her apartment complex. Las Vegas police said the victim was a “completely innocent person” with a lack of criminal history. Police believe she was attacked on her way to her car.
2. A robbery at a Summerlin Costco Wednesday night has police searching for four suspects. The robbers were only armed with the tool they used to break open display cases, and no one was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.

3. The College of Southern Nevada has been issued a second warning this year from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities over plans relating to self evaluation of performance. CSN must submit evidence by Oct. 30 showing the board has approved plans for annual self-evalution, which Board Chairman Kevin Page says they have already approved.
