Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said Monday that the team is excited for the move from Oakland to Las Vegas. The team will hold their offseason programs in Oakland and Napa before officially debuting as the Las Vegas Raiders next season.

Las Vegas resident Don Walford said he took a photo of a rear door to the Alpine Motel Apartments bolted shut roughly four weeks ago. The matter was reported to the city of Las Vegas and a few days later Walford walked by the door and noticed the bolts had been taken off the rear door.
Approximately six weeks later, he saw on the news that six people had died in a fire at the Alpine Motel Apartments. He went to the scene and notified a fire investigator of what he’d observed previously regarding the rear door of the Alpine. He said that a fire investigator told him that the door was blocked at the time of the fire.

High-end luxury resort designers, John Klai and Jon Sparer, were living in a 13,225-square-foot mansion on the westernmost edge of Las Vegas in the exclusive golf course community, The Ridges. Both wanted to return the heart of the city and to live a more established neighborhood, and chose McNeil Estates, a beloved midcentury neighborhood designed for “country living in the city” when Las Vegas was booming in the 1950s. The first home they bought in McNeil became too cost effective and then they spotted the charming 1951 ranch home on the corner and Ashby Avenue and Strong Drive, its yard still boasting a lemon tree planted by the original owner, Mrs. Mary Porter.
