The Mountain West, which released the 2018 football schedule Thursday, gave UNLV a challenging final month of the season. The Rebels play Western Division champion Fresno State at Sam Boyd Stadium on Nov. 3, travel to San Diego State and Hawaii the following two weeks, and close the season at home against rival UNR on Nov. 24. UNLV, which opens Sept. 1 at Southern California, was 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference last season. Sanchez enters his fourth season, having increased the victory total by one each of the previous three seasons. “It’s an interesting schedule when you look at the way it’s broken up,” Sanchez said. “It’s really orderly.”

Two students at different Clark County schools arrested for guns The first incident Thursday occurred at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas at 7:30 a.m., just before school started. A male student at the school had left a duffel bag unattended, according to school police. The second incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at Desert Rose High School in North Las Vegas. A 17-year-old female was in the bathroom showing off a 9 mm handgun, when another student reported it to the school administrators.

LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a lounge located in the 900 block of East Karen Avenue for a report of multiple shots being fired into the business from the parking lot. Officers located a victim inside of the business suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. As the suspect walked by the lounge on foot, he pulled out a firearm and shot into the business without warning. There were multiple people inside the business during the incident but no one saw the suspect.
