Central Las Vegas fire might be arson

Las Vegas Police and the Clark County Fire Department are investigating a suspected arson at 4330 W. Desert Inn Road.
A fire broke out around 3 a.m. Wednesday. Metropolitan police later arrived at the scene and taped off the area. Clark County fire investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. Check back at lvrj.com for more details.

Deadly shooting on Calimesa Street

Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal shooting Monday morning on the 4200 block of Calimesa Street.
An adult man was found in front of a house with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he died, according to Metropolitan Police Lt. David Gordon.
Homicide detectives also are investigating another deadly shooting that occurred a short time after the Calimesa Street shooting. A person was killed at 2901 W. Washington Ave.

Public defender appointed for former Metro officer charged in rape/murder case

On Monday, a Judge Harmony Letizia appointed a public defender for former Metropolitan Police officer Arthur Lee Sewall Jr. who is charged for the rape and murder of Nadia Iverson whose body was found at a construction site with a gunshot wound to the head more that 20 years ago.
