Las Vegas police investigate kidnapping, carjacking and robbery at Best Buy

Shortly before 6 a.m., a man was approached by two men in the parking lot of a Best Buy at 6950 Arroyo Crossing, near the 215 Beltway and South Rainbow Boulevard. Police said at least one of the two suspects was armed with a handgun. The suspects forced the man into his car and made him drive to an ATM, where he withdrew an unknown amount of money for the suspects, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said. The two men then instructed the victim to drive to a convenience store at 4030 W. Charleston Blvd., where they told him to get out of his vehicle. Police said the suspects fled north on Hinson Street in the man’s car.

“Pawn Stars” will air its 500th episode on Monday at 10 p.m. on History. “Pawn Stars” debuted July 26, 2009. After completing the first season, Corey was about to tell his father and grandfather that he didn’t think all the additional work was worth the meager uptick in business. “The show definitely hit at the right time. It couldn’t have been a better time for it to hit,” Corey says. “Oh, no. I was hoping for a season or two and hoping it would help out business,” says Gold & Silver Pawn Shop owner Rick Harrison. “I never thought it would turn into this.”

Coroner releases Las Vegas shooter’s cremated remains

The Clark County Coroner’s office has released the cremated remains of Las Vegas Strip shooter Stephen Paddock. His brother, Eric Paddock, was unable to get the coroner’s office to deliver the remains to his home in Orlando, Florida. Eric Paddock flew to Las Vegas to meet with Coroner John Fudenberg. Fudenberg has not yet released an autopsy report to the family. Paddock said he plans to put the ashes in a bank’s safe deposit box.
