“Pawn Stars,” which debuted in June 2009, marks its 500th show this month. The broadcast is set for Jan. 22. Rick Harrison asks, “Who wants to watch a show about four fat guys working at a pawn shop?” But the owner of Gold & Silver Pawn has helped turn his father, Richard; son, Corey; and Austin “Chumlee” Russell into TV stars. From The Colosseum at Caesars Palace … Celine Dion had to cancel a weekend show. She said in a statement on Twitter she was resting, under doctor’s orders. On New Year’s Eve, she welcomed the idea of a duet with Lady Gaga. As Celine says, “I would love I would love that. I love her so much.”

In an interview last week with Boston NBC television affiliate WBTS, Perry, a bona fide guitar god as a founding member of Aerosmith, went off the charts when talking of the band’s plans for Las Vegas. Perry’s comment fits with tremors around the scene that Aerosmith has been enlisted for an extended engagement on the Strip. The Aerosmith residency, whatever its length, only reinforces The Park Theater’s already impressive lineup for 2018, with Bruno Mars closing New Year’s weekend at the venue.
Hoda Kotb Joins Savannah Guthrie as Co-Host of NBC’s ‘Today’ Kotb is now officially co-host of the popular morning show after temporarily filling in for Matt Lauer who was fired in November over sexual harassment claims. This has to be the most popular decision that NBC News has ever made. Hoever, Kotb isn’t a completely new face as she co-hosted the fourth hour of the show with Kathie Lee Gifford since 2008. I am pinching myself,” Kotb said. “I think we should send some medics to Alexandria, Virginia, where my mom has likely fainted after hearing the open of that show.” Having two female co-anchors is rare in morning news with the first instance occurring from 2006-09 when Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts co-anchored ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Britney Spears will end her residency on the Las Vegas Strip with a performance on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018.” Her appearance will be broadcast during the nationwide, all-star show. Spears started her Vegas residency over New Year’s weekend 2013. She has no performance dates scheduled for 2018. The 5 1/2-hour “Rockin’ Eve” show will start at 5 p.m. from Times Square in New York. Las Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons are set to perform from the 2nd annual Central Time Zone countdown from New Orleans.
