Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the Las Vegas Valley with a winter storm warning beginning at 4 a.m. Wednesday for high elevations in the Sheep Range, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Mount Charleston, according to the National Weather Service.

The $2 billion Allegiant Stadium remains on time and on budget, even though completion of the cable net to support the translucent polymer roof won’t be completed until mid-December.

The reason: Other projects within the 65,000-seat stadium were completed well ahead of their projected completion dates.

On Monday a jury found Manuel Mata III guilty of second-degree murder in the slaying of Maria Flores and one count of first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Elizabeth Gomez, as well as one count of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon for critically wounding her 4-year-old daughter.
