Las Vegas Lights FC introduces first head coach

Las Vegas’ new soccer team introduced its head coach Tuesday. José Luis Sánchez Solá, better known as “Chelís”, will put together the Las Vegas Lights FC for 2018. Owner Brett Lashbook said Chelís fit with the attacking style of play he wants the team to be. Chelís previously coached Puebla in Liga MX and was the coach of Major League Soccer team Chivas USA. Chelís is currently an analyst with the ESPN Deporters’ daily soccer show Futbol Picante.

Las Vegas’ United Soccer League team has announced it’s first head coach José Luis Sánchez Solá, commonly referred to as “Chelis,” will lead Las Vegas Lights FC in its inaugural season I am extremely excited to build a spectacular team for a spectacular city. I am grateful to Las Vegas Lights FC for the opportunity to excite this city with the most beautiful sport in the world. Chelis coached Puebla in Liga MX in Mexico from 2006-10 and also was the head coach for Major League Soccer’s Chivas USA in 2013 The Lights FC will begin play in 2018.
