Southern Nevada home prices reach record despite pandemic

A report released July 7 by Las Vegas Realtors shows local home prices breaking their all-time record despite the coronavirus pandemic and economic downturn, though fewer homes are selling compared to the same time last year.

Three-year-old Taylor Wilmer died at the scene after the silver Honda van she was riding in hit a palm tree head on near a curve of Scott Robinson Boulevard, north of Lone Mountain Road, in a suspected DUI crash. Two-year-old Rose Wilmer was taken to University Medical Center, and died in the early hours of Monday morning, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

An inmate was stabbed to death at a maximum security prison in northern Nevada, officials announced Monday. Tyrek Settles, 21, was stabbed around 12:30 p.m. Friday at Ely State Prison, according to statement from the Nevada Department of Corrections.
