Ring in new year without a trip to the Strip

Want to enjoy New Year’s Eve without the stress of going to the Strip? There are a number of options.

All events are for those 21 or older unless otherwise noted.

Station Casinos’ properties plan to welcome 2012 with live entertainment and drink specials. Tickets can be purchased on site at any Station Casinos Reward Center and the Fiestas, online at stationcasinos.com/concerts or through Ticketmaster by calling 745-3000.

New Year’s Eve with DJ Hyphy Crunk is scheduled beginning at 9 p.m. at Ovation in Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway. Admission is $75 in advance, $100 on the day of the event and includes an open bar from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Club Madrid at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road, plans to host a Strung Out Sessions rock party starting at 10 p.m. Tickets are $15. For more information, visit sunsetstation.com or call 547-7777.

Yellow Brick Road is scheduled to play at The Railhead in Boulder Station, 4111 Boulder Highway. Doors are set to open at 10 p.m. Tickets are $24.95 in advance and $34.95 the day of the event and include a champagne toast at midnight.

Kixx Bar is scheduled to host a New Year’s Eve disco dance party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. featuring DJ Ania. The event includes party favors and champagne. There is no cover.

The M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to ring in the new year with a property wide celebration with complimentary party favors, cake and champagne stations throughout.

Entertainment options include dancers and a disc jockey at 9 p.m. followed by Loveshack at 10 p.m. in Ravello, Lowkey Junction in the Lobby Bar starting at 9 p.m., DJ Arty in Hostile Grape starting at 9 p.m. and DJ Simon and dancers in M Bar starting at 9 p.m.

The fireworks on the Strip should be visible from the M Resort’s terraces.

A party featuring DJ Slimm hosted by Robert “Twix” Taylor is planned beginning at 9:30 p.m. at Alexis Park Resort, 375 E. Harmon Ave. Admission is $40 in advance, $50 on the day of the event

A concert featuring the Commodores is planned at 8:30 p.m. at the Eastside Event Center in the Eastside Cannery, 5255 N. Boulder Highway. Tickets are $64.95 to $84.95.

A party featuring DJ M.A.D. is set to begin at 10:30 p.m. at One Six Sky Lounge at the Eastside Cannery, which offers a panoramic view of the Strip fireworks. Admission is $40 and includes party favors and a champagne toast.

Loews Lake Las Vegas, 101 Montelago Blvd., plans live entertainment in the Arabesque Lounge and a fireworks display at midnight.

The fourth annual TributePalooza is planned from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Fremont Street Experience, 425 Fremont St. The New Year’s Eve bash is set to feature bands Steel Panther and Rock Sugar, plus 10 tribute bands performing throughout the evening.

The celebration also includes a 2011 year-in-review retrospective on the Viva Vision screen, a midnight countdown led by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Fireworks by Grucci as part of the citywide celebration, America’s Party: Las Vegas New Year 2012. Additionally, the celebration will happen all weekend with free concerts by tribute bands on both Friday and Sunday .

InsertCoin(s) Videolounge Gamebar, 512 Fremont St., plans to host the Downtown Countdown 2012, the first New Year’s Eve block party in the Fremont East Entertainment District. The fun is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m., and entry is free. Expect drink specials and live music from Pride and the Vanities, Otherwise and Rhyme N Rhythm.

The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to feature disc jockeys spinning upscale hip-hop and R&B with Hot 97.5 resident disc jockeys Dre Dae and D-Money. Expect special guest appearances and performances. The night will be emceed by Mr. B.O.B. Doors are set to open at 10:30 p.m. The cover charge is $30.

The Rio, 3700 W. Flamingo Road, plans to host a New Year’s Eve celebration with Tyga and Bobby Valentino beginning at
10:30 p.m. Admission is $125.
