Family of man ejected onto freeway sign had held lamb sacrifice days before

Just days before a California man was involved in a fatal car crash, causing his body to be ejected from the vehicle and land on an exit ramp sign, his family had performed a lamb sacrifice to protect him from harm and evil, KTLA reports.

According to California Highway Patrol, Richard Pananian was passing vehicles on the freeway’s right shoulder at a high rate of speed when his 2004 Ford Fiesta hit the rear of a Ford F-150 truck and veered out of control.

As a result, his vehicle overturned and rolled multiple times.

While the car was traveling up an embankment, Pananian was ejected approximately 20 feet into air, causing his body to land on an exit ramp sign overhead.

Highway patrol stated that it appeared Pananian was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

On a GoFundMe page created by his cousin, Armen Kardashian, in a section titled “Ironic backstory,” he mentions that Pananian had been apart of a lamb sacrifice meant to protect him from harm and evil.

Although Kardashian does not go into detail, he states that Pananian‘s life had been previously spared.

“A week ago today on 10/25 the family had done what is called a “matag” or a lamb sacrifice for Richard to protect him from harm and evil. In the Armenian culture sacrifices are done when someone escapes death, as Richards life was once spared. I myself had sat in the car with Richard countless times, and he had a 5 point safety harness that he wore all the time! All the time!! It would be the first thing he did without a reminder. I find it ironic that 5 days after this offering to God, not only did God choose to take this young mans life, but decided to make such a spectacle out of it. ” – Armen Kardashian
