David Bowie may rise again in Vegas
Entertainment giant AEG has contacted David Bowie’s inner circle about the superstar’s possible interest in a Las Vegas deal.
John Meglen, co-CEO of Concerts West, a division of AEG Live, confirmed Tuesday that he “just sent a note to David’s guy” after a British report that Bowie is being courted to return to the stage for the first time since 2006.
Meglen, who oversees the entertainment lineup for the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, said in a telephone interview that he would “love” to land Bowie, who has been in semi-retirement.
“He’s phenomenal, and he’s always been at the top of my list of someone who would do an amazing residency,” he said.
There’s some history between Meglen and Bowie.
“I did a few tours with David,” he said.
“I think it’s all rumor right now, but I’m checking out the rumor,” he added.
Bowie, 66, has been semi-retired since 2004 when he underwent angioplasty for an acutely pinched coronary.
Last January, on his birthday (Jan. 8), Bowie’s website announced that his first studio album in a decade, titled “The Next Day,” was being released.

Bradshaw said he has paid a price for his straight-shooting analysis. “I’m not going to mention names … but I’ve tried to interview superstars, and they’ve turned me down.
“And Fox doesn’t want anybody to know that.”
FIRE-BREATHING DRAGONS
Rolling Stone magazine’s latest issue profiles the high-flying Imagine Dragons with a headline that reads: “How a Vegas bar band became the biggest breakout of the year.”
Founded in Las Vegas in 2008, the band — singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman – have hit the top.
Rolling Stone crowned the Dragons this year’s modern-rock breakout story. Their debut album, “Night Vision,” is the year’s second-best-selling rock album (after Mumford & Son’s “Babel”).
The Dragons saw their opening track, “Radioactive,” become the top digital rock single, selling more than 3 million copies.
