The Rams open the region playoffs Tuesday as the No. 2 seed from the Northeast League and host Southeast League No. 3 seed Coronado at 6:30 p.m. in a rematch of last year’s first-round game.
Last week, Spring Valley 132- pounder Andres Garcia placed third at the Sunset Region tournament, and was seeded at the bottom of the bracket for state.
Quarterback Kaden Renshaw is a star wrestler for Durango, and after claiming his first Sunset Region championship last week, he’ll enter the 152-pound bracket of the Class 4A state tournament Friday at The Orleans with one goal in mind.
