Melanie Isbell scored 20 points, including a back-breaking 3-pointer in the third quarter. She led four double-digit scorers as Centennial cruised to a 75-45 victory over Spring Valley in the Sunset Region title game at Legacy.

Bishop Gorman loses late lead, wins in overtime

Bishop Gorman’s girls basketball team led by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, but Cimarron-Memorial tied it with 1.2 seconds left to force overtime. Caira Young had a pair of buckets in the extra period, and helped her Gaels win 75-73 on the road in the quarterfinals of the Sunset Region playoffs.

 
Durango QB Kaden Renshaw takes aim at state wrestling title

Quarterback Kaden Renshaw is a star wrestler for Durango, and after claiming his first Sunset Region championship last week, he’ll enter the 152-pound bracket of the Class 4A state tournament Friday at The Orleans with one goal in mind.
