Details of public memorial service for Tark announced
A public memorial for former UNLV Runnin’ Rebels coach Jerry Tarkanian will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center, the UNLV Athletic Department announced today.
The service is expected to last about 90 minutes and is free and open to the public. No tickets will be required for entry.
Going dark for Tark
With Wynn Las Vegas and Encore recently agreeing to dim their lights for Tark, nearly the entire Strip will go dark to honor the coaching legend on Wednesday night.

The dimming will take place for three minutes at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, giving fans attending the UNLV-Boise-State basketball game time to make the trip from the Thomas & Mack to the Strip to observe the occasion. Coach Tarkanian will also be remembered with a pregame tribute at the T&M around 7:45 p.m. and all those in attendance will receive a commemorative towel.
