REBELS PICK UP TWO NAME RECRUITS

UNLV’s recruiting class became even better today when linebacker Jordan Barrett and offensive tackle Thomas Kilgore committed to play football for the Rebels.

Barrett (6 feet 2 inches, 225 pounds) is a Scout.com and Rivals.com three-star prospect from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. He is rated by Scout as the nation’s No. 12 strong-side linebacker and No. 47 inside backer, and No. 85 player in California by Rivals, Barrett also received scholarship offers from Notre Dame and Washington. According to Rivals’ ranking system, Barrett is the eighth three-star player to commit to UNLV. He is the fourth three-star recruit, according to Scout.

Kilgore (6-5, 305) of San Joaquin Memorial High in Fresno, Calif., chose the Rebels over UNR and San Diego State. He visited all three schools. Scout rates him as a one-star prospect.

Kilgore said UNLV’s coaching staff made the difference, especially wide receivers coach Kris Cinkovich, who recruited him.

"It was on my visit when I knew I wanted to be at UNLV," Kilgore said of his trip this past weekend.
