UNLV offense stymied in 9-0 Mountain West baseball loss to New Mexico

Toller Boardman pitched seven strong innings, and Chris DeVito drove in three runs to lead New Mexico to a 9-0 rout over UNLV in a Mountain West baseball game Friday at Wilson Stadium.

Boardman (7-1) blanked the Rebels (15-21, 2-14) on five hits and one walk and struck out eight. DeVito went 2-for-4 with a double and was one of four Lobos with multiple hits.

Aaron Siple led the way with a 3-for-5 effort as New Mexico (22-15, 12-7) won its sixth straight.

Joey Armstrong went 3-for-3 with a double, and Morgan Stotts was 2-for-4 for UNLV, which was outhit 12-7.

Rebels starter Kenny Oakley (2-4) gave up five runs on six hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings. He struck out four.
