UNLV baseball team falls to UNR for fifth straight loss

Austin Byler’s one-out RBI double in the 12th inning lifted UNR to a 10-9 win over UNLV in a Mountain West baseball game Friday night in Reno.

Byler finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs as the Wolf Pack (24-6, 10-3) dealt the Rebels (12-16, 2-11) their fifth straight loss.

Joey Armstrong went 4-for-7 for UNLV, including a two-run single that capped the scoring in the Rebels’ four-run ninth inning that tied the score at 9. They trailed 5-0 after one inning and 8-1 after four.

A.J. Hernandez went 3-for-7 and Andrew Yazdanbakhsh 2-for-4 with three RBIs for UNLV, which held a 19-15 edge in hits.
