UNLV baseball rumbles past Air Force to cap regular season

Joey Armstrong and Brandon Bayardi each drove in four runs to lead the UNLV baseball team to a 14-6 victory over Air Force in the regular-season finale on Saturday at Air Force Academy, Colo.

The Rebels (36-18, 18-12 Mountain West) finished second in conference and will receive a bye in the Mountain West tournament, which begins Wednesday in Fresno, Calif. New Mexico is the top seed.

UNLV has won nine of its past 11 games, including five of six during the closing road trip.

Against Air Force (15-37, 7-23), UNLV had 21 hits, with Bayardi and Cody Howard each finishing with four, and T.J. White going 3-for-3.
