Rebels’ second-half rally falls short in women’s soccer loss to Hawaii

Goals by Jenn Wolfe and Macy Jo Harrison rallied UNLV in the second half, but the Rebels’ comeback fell short in a 5-4 soccer loss to Hawaii on Sunday at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

The nine goals tied the most ever scored in a UNLV women’s game.

The Rebels (1-1) battled back from deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 5-2. Wolfe also scored in the first half, and Erica Meier scored on a header in the 49th minute to tie the game at 2. Hawaii is 1-1.

UNLV plays Friday against South Dakota State in the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan. The Rebels play Kansas on Sunday.
