Rebels men’s golf team surges into second place in Mountain West Championship

John Oda and Shintaro Ban each shot 3-under-par 69 on Saturday to help the UNLV men’s golf team move up to second place after two rounds of the Mountain West Championship in Tucson, Arizona.
The No. 25-ranked Rebels, who were in sixth place in the 11-team field after the opening round, are at 9-under 567, two strokes behind pace-setting New Mexico and four strokes ahead of first-round leader Fresno State.
San Diego State is fourth at 4-under 572, one stroke better than Colorado State and UNR.
Oda is at 4-under 140 in a tie for sixth in the 55-player field. Ban, at 3-under 141, is tied for eighth.
Also for the Rebels, Zane Thomas (143) is tied for 17th, Harry Hall (144) tied for 23rd and Ben Davis (145) tied for 26th.
