Fedde, Shannon, Bayardi lead UNLV baseball team past Bradley

Erick Fedde pitched 6 2/3 innings of four-hit ball, Mark Shannon went 4-for-5 and Brandon Bayardi drove in three runs as the UNLV baseball team beat Bradley 8-6 Thursday in the opening game of the Rebel Classic at Wilson Stadium.
The Rebels (5-3) used four pitchers to get through a tight four-run ninth by the Braves (2-5), with Andrew Beresford getting the final out for his second save.
Two of Shannon’s four hits were doubles.
Also: The UNLV men’s tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak by upsetting Oklahoma State 5-2 in a neutral-site match on the campus of San Diego State.
The Rebels (6-4) won the top five singles matches, paced by Ace Matias at No. 1 singles.
The College of Southern Nevada baseball team (16-5), winner of nine consecutive games, is ranked No. 7 in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s latest Top 25 poll.
