UNLV baseball team wins sixth straight game

UNLV won its sixth straight game Saturday, defeating New Mexico 3-2 in a Mountain West baseball game at Albuquerque.

With the game tied 2-2, the Rebels (10-3, 5-0 MW) scored the winning run in the eighth inning when T.J. White came home after Morgan Stotts reached on an error with two outs.

New Mexico (8-6-1, 0-2) had the tying run at third with two out in the ninth, but UNLV reliever Kenny Oakley got a strikeout on three pitches to get the save for John Richy (3-0), who allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks in seven innings.

Joey Armstrong (2-for-5), Patrick Armstrong (2-for-4), Dylan Ellis (2-for-4) and Matt McCallister (2-for-4) combined for eight of the Rebels’ 11 hits.
