Stellar pitching sends 51s to eighth straight win

Darin Gorski and five relievers held the Albuquerque Isotopes to three hits Friday in the 51s‘ 4-2 victory in a Pacific Coast League game in Albuquerque, N.M.

Gorski (8-6) worked around five walks in five innings, allowing two runs and two hits while striking out three as Las Vegas (55-38) won its eighth straight.

The Isotopes (41-52) scored on Dustin Garneau‘s two-run homer in the second inning, his 13th home run of the season, which followed a leadoff walk to Kyle Parker.

Relievers Cody Satterwhite, Scott Rice, Vic Black, Chase Huchingson and John Church shut out Albuquerque on one hit and two walks while striking out four in the final four innings.

Dilson Herrera had two of the 51s‘ seven hits, stole a base and scored twice. He hit the first pitch from starter Jair Jurrjens (2-3) for a double to kick off Las Vegas‘ three-run first inning.

Travis Taijeron went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the first for Las Vegas.

Jurrjens gave up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and one walk and struck out five in six innings.
