Usain Bolt went third-person on us after setting the world record in the 200 meters here tonight: “I was thinking, ‘That guy is fast,’ ” Bolt said of, well, himself. “I told myself I would set the world record. I am Lightning Bolt! I am not Flash Gordon. My name is Bolt. Lightning Bolt!”
Bolt celebrated his second Olympic sprint world record with a dance on the track.
“It is actually from Jamaica,” he said. “It means, ‘To the World.’ ”
To me, it looked like it should mean, ‘Don’t quit your day job.’ ”
