Simmons leads Montverde Academy to second straight title

Ben Simmons, the consensus No. 1 player in the class of 2015, scored 13 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six assists Saturday to lead Montverde Academy (Fla.) to a 70-61 win over Oak Hill Academy (Va.) in the championship game of the High School National Tournament in New York City.

The championship is the second straight and third in the tournament’s six-year history for Montverde, which defeated Findlay Prep 57-53 in overtime Friday in the semifinals.

Fard Muhammad also scored 20 for the Eagles (30-1).
