Silverado downs Las Vegas in girls volleyball

Jessica Schmidt had 10 kills and two blocks and Marilyn Agae 34 assists and two aces to lead the Silverado girls volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22 victory over visiting Las Vegas in a rematch of last year’s Sunrise Regional final.

Sara Thompson added 12 digs for the Skyhawks.

Chenoa Rossi-Childress led Las Vegas with 12 kills and 11 blocks, and teammate Cassie Lindsay had 31 assists and seven digs.

At Green Valley, Centennial rallied to post a 13-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22 victory. Johnna Brown paced the Bulldogs with 10 kills, five blocks and five digs. Amanda Valvo added 10 digs.

Emma Johnson had seven kills and four aces to pace Green Valley, and Jena Chavez dished out 25 assists.

At Foothill, Markie Malone had 27 assists and teammate Jordan Nitz 10 kills as Durango defeated the Falcons, 25-10, 25-12, 25-12.

Jessica Heintz led Foothill in digs with nine, and Ana Ureno added six kills for the Falcons.

At Overton, the Pirates rallied to a 27-29, 25-17, 20-25, 25-10, 15-13 win over Chapparal. Blythe Thompson paced Moapa Valley with 13 kills, and Jessica Waite added 16 digs.

Shannon Walling had 16 kills, and teammate Sarah Concannon added 41 assists for the Cowboys.

At Faith Lutheran, Megan Murphy had 10 kills and five digs, Hailey Washinsky six kills and six aces and Tracey Anderson 23 assists and five aces to lead the Crusaders over Bonanza, 25-8, 25-10, 25-18.

At Bishop Gorman, Dannielle Diamant had 17 kills to lead the Gaels to a 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 win over Pine View (Utah).

Lauren Preston added 17 assists for the Gaels, and teammate Brooke McKenna had 22 digs.

At Rancho, Basic’s Stephanie Cinkovich had 10 kills, and teammate Molly Everson added seven kills as the Wolves defeated the Rams, 32-30, 25-17, 25-15.

At Tech, Mechel’la Logan had eight kills, two aces and two blocks to lead the Roadrunners to a 26-24, 25-17, 25-22 win over Desert Pines.

Erica Schramek added four aces for Tech.
